About the volunteering opportunity
The long-standing project "Fächerübergreifender Projektunterricht - FäPu" (interdisciplinary project lessons) is carried out 4 times a school year within the family and project area of the MehrGenerationenHaus MIKADO. The MIKADO team aims to introduce the 5th and 6th grade students to historical epochs (such as the Middle Ages, the Stone Age or Ancient Egypt) as practically as possible. The children can try their hand at a wide variety of workshops appropriate to the respective historical epoch. They make historical amulets, cook over an open fire or learn medieval dances. These hands-on experiences are constantly combined with theoretical input to create long-term learning and memories.
Your Tasks
For the implementation of the many different workshops, we are always looking for several volunteers who would like to participate in the project. For this we need your support!
The scope of duties includes the accompaniment and implementation of a workshop within the project. You can contribute your own strengths and abilities. All personal interests can be useful in the implementation of an offer, whether it is crocheting, cooking, drawing, crafts or simply the joy of working with children. It is also possible to jointly develop, plan and implement a workshop on a self-selected topic within your area of interest. Interdisciplinary project teaching thrives on the creativity of all participants.

The MehrGenerationenHaus (more Generation house) MIKADO is run by the Stiftung Sozialpädagogisches Institut Berlin "Walter May" (SPI), which is a foundation of the Landesverband der Arbeiterwohlfahrt Berlin e. V. (Regional Association of Workers' Welfare Berlin). Our MehrGenerationenHaus is a lively, moving, conscious and intercultural cooperation of different actors, target groups, generations and offers.
ln the city of Frankfurt (Oder), our house has developed into a hub for encounters, counselling, information, educational and media competence, of open youth, cultural and leisure work, voluntary work as well as practical training and networking.
The heart of our organisation is the Kontaktcafé - where people of different generations, backgrounds and cultures meet at events and projects. This can range from readings, open mic, intergenerational games evenings and many other ideas. We are looking forward to motivated people who want to develop and implement exciting activities together with us and accompany the users and guests of our diverse house. We are looking forward to YOU!
