About the volunteering opportunity

The residents of the "Dr. Günter Hesse" nursing home in Pankow love to play bingo.

We would like to play together once a month and are looking for 2-3 more players.

The "Dr. Günter Hesse" nursing home offers 80 residents (with care grades 1 to 5) a home in Pankow. The residents feel comfortable and secure here, and our long-standing staff contribute to this every day. They are supported by many volunteers who like to come to the home regularly. This means you are not alone in volunteering and can talk to other volunteers and the contact person on site. In addition, the Unionhilfswerk volunteer team is always available and offers free courses and training in the area of volunteering for/with older people.
The facility is a 3-minute walk from the Pankower Straße streetcar stop (M50) and is therefore easily accessible. You can find more information about the facility at "Pflegewohnheim "Dr. Günter Hesse"" - Unionhilfswerk.

Your Tasks

Your task is to play along and motivate and support the residents, possibly pushing wheelchairs and cheering them on during the game.

Staff from the care home are always there, so you are not alone.

You can visit the care home once without obligation and see if this commitment is something for you.

You can decide for yourself whether you would like to get involved on a regular basis or whether you would prefer to come only occasionally.

What's needed

For this volunteering opportunity, intermediate German skills are required.

You should enjoy the game, as well as contact with senior citizens and communication.
