About the volunteering opportunity

You look after a boy and study with him. Unfortunately, his mother is unable to help him as she received little education in her home country of Nigeria.

Your Tasks

You practise reading German with the 8-year-old and help and support him with his homework; he is in third grade. Unfortunately, his mother can't help him much as she didn't receive an adequate education in her home country of Nigeria.

What's needed

Volunteers must be native German speakers.

You need patience, can explain things well, are absolutely reliable and enjoy teaching children. Openness, tolerance and open-mindedness towards children should be a matter of course for you.

Time required

Regularly
Approx. 2 hours per week.
On weekdays, on weekends, during the day

Either during the week from 4.30 p.m. or at the weekend by appointment, you will give tutoring, help with homework and answer questions.

Where?

Diakonie München und Oberbayern - Innere Mission München e.V.

"Die Innere Mission" helps people with a migration background. Whether as first aid for refugees and asylum seekers or through useful offers for migrants already living in Munich with permanent residence. The employees of our social and migration services often know the challenges from their own experience. They know where to start in order to begin a new life in a foreign country.
