About the volunteering opportunity
Create two fun and varied hours for children with a refugee background on Friday afternoons. These are mainly schoolchildren of different ages who want to be kept busy with interactive games. You will take on the task together with one or more other volunteers. The games afternoon takes place in a large room in the refugee accommodation. It is located right next to a central subway station in Munich in the Schwanthaler Höhe area, so it is easy to reach.
Your Tasks
The children finish school early on Fridays and want to be kept busy in the early evening until their parents arrive. You are free to organize the 1 to 2 hours, whether board games or movement games. It is important to supervise the children so that they do not run around the entire accommodation
What's needed
You should enjoy working with children. If you are patient, empathetic, interculturally open, tolerant, flexible and optimistic, then get in touch.
It is also important that you can set boundaries when necessary and set limits when needed. We will discuss everything else when we get to know each other.
If you speak other languages besides German, such as English, Arabic, Farsi or French, this can be helpful, but is not a prerequisite.
Time required
Weekly on Friday afternoons from approx. 3 to 4/17 p.m.

Where?
Diakonie München und Oberbayern - Innere Mission München e.V.
"Die Innere Mission" helps people with a migration background. Whether as first aid for refugees and asylum seekers or through useful offers for migrants already living in Munich with permanent residence. The employees of our social and migration services often know the challenges from their own experience. They know where to start in order to begin a new life in a foreign country.
