About the volunteering opportunity
The members of the all-volunteer motorcycle squadron, which has been in existence since 2006, provide assistance on the highways in our region, including the A 2 from Hämelerwald to Helmstedt as well as the A 39, A 391, A 392 and A 395. The volunteers of the Johanniter motorcycle squadron secure emergency scenes, provide first aid, assist with traffic controls, initiate the formation of rescue lanes and guide rescue teams safely to accident scenes.
Your Tasks
The volunteer helpers on two wheels provide support in cooperation with the highway police in eliminating the causes of traffic jams, bringing roadside assistance or caring for exhausted car occupants.
All squadron members have a basic rescue service qualification or professional training.

What's needed
For this volunteering opportunity, intermediate German skills are required.
- Class A motorcycle license
- Annual driving safety training is a prerequisite for service in the volunteer motorcycle squadron

The Johanniter provide medical and rescue services, home emergency calls and volunteer in disaster and civil protection with a motorcycle squadron, a medical group and a technical/logistics group with heavy equipment.
