About the volunteering opportunity
A 14-year-old girl living at our refugee centre attends grammar school and needs help learning Spanish. She doesn't necessarily want help with her homework, but proper, structured, individual lessons.
Your Tasks
You teach a student the Spanish language in a motivated and structured way.
What's needed
Ideally you are a native speaker in Spanish with a good knowledge of German, experience in teaching would also be great, but is not a must.

Important notice
Women only. You should approach the matter in a motivated and structured way and be aware that this project means a regular commitment over several months.You will need an extended police clearance certificate for this commitment, which we can help you aplying for.

The refugee shelter is located in a quiet backstreet in the heart of Berlin Kreuzberg. The shelter provides a temporary home for up to 147 people (singles & families), most of whom are refugees or asylum seekers who had to leave their native countries for various reasons. We offer social counselling and support regarding administrative and bureaucratic matters, help finding German classes, schools, internships, jobs etc. Joint activities, such as excursions, workshops and parties are organized regularly throughout the year. Our intercultural team consists of 9 team members working in the field of social work and facility management. We speak German, Arabic, Kurdish, Russian, Persian, English, French and Spanish. Reception is open 24/7.
