About the volunteering opportunity
We are making Berlin weatherproof by 2040 - with more trees, more green spaces and better protection against heat, drought and heavy rain. To this end, we are launching a binding climate adaptation law by referendum. It obliges politicians and administrators to cool particularly polluted districts, use rainwater and systematically promote urban greenery.
If you enjoy creating templates and posts for social media, researching various tree-related content and creating editorial plans together with the communications team - then you are welcome to join the social media team!

What's needed
For this volunteering opportunity, intermediate German skills are required.
Ideally, it would be nice if you already have experience in public relations and social media work, but this is not a prerequisite.

The activity can be pursued according to time and need. Work is done in a team and by arrangement, with creative freedom at the same time.
Important notice
We welcome regular participation, but we mainly work according to individual agreements. A written volunteer agreement must be signed.

BaumEntscheid
The BaumEntscheid initiative aims to make Berlin weatherproof and heat-proof by 2035. We are currently drafting the Tree Law as Germany's first concrete climate adaptation law. The law should come into force by referendum. This will oblige the Berlin Senate to better protect Berlin's urban greenery and urban society against extreme weather such as drought and heat. There are many different ways to get involved by volunteering with BaumEntscheid. It is also possible to volunteer for a limited period of time, for example only for the collection phases (collecting signatures of support for the petition for a referendum and the referendum) or during other campaigns. In any case, the initiative is initially working towards the 2026 parliamentary elections.
