About the volunteering opportunity

We need your support in our "MappingZero" project: We are developing a knowledge database for political measures towards climate neutrality. This should be neutral, scientifically sound, free of charge and publicly accessible. An information platform for politicians, journalists and the interested (specialist) public.
This should make it possible to retrieve targeted and immediate information about

  • which measures are available in the fight against the climate crisis
  • how great the effect - the emission reduction potential - of a measure is. how great the effect of several measures in combination is
  • what risks and potential a measure entails in addition to reducing emissions
  • which practical examples already exist that decision-makers can use as a guide
A unique feature is that the possible measures in each sector are presented objectively side by side. In this way, the platform ensures a number-based comparison of different measures.

Your Tasks

As a volunteer in the MappingZero project, you will help us to research 1.5-degree-compliant solutions and their risks and potential. This is exciting work that allows you to delve deeper into individual climate policy measures.

As project groups, we work on the following sectors:

  • Energy
  • Industry
  • Transportation
  • Agriculture / land use / forestry
  • Buildings / Heat
  • International / Social / Finance
  • Emissions pricing
  • Accounting (data affinity and/or programming skills desirable)

Would you like to join us? Then write us a message here or contact us directly via our participation form on our homepage (check the box "Specialist topic"):

We look forward to hearing from you!

GermanZero

Help to ensure that the next generations have a future worth living in! With your support, GermanZero e.V. is developing a solution to the climate crisis: the 1.5-degree agreement, with which Germany can become climate neutral by 2035. Fair. Predictable. Effective.

In the Paris Climate Agreement, Germany committed itself to limiting global warming to 1.5 degrees with the international community. According to current research, this is only possible if Germany becomes climate neutral by 2035 at the latest.

We are the last generation that can still contain the climate crisis. So far, neither the German government nor any of the parties represented in the Bundestag have submitted a plan to this end. With its climate policy, Germany is currently heading towards global warming of 4 degrees. Although the Federal Republic is the strongest economy in Europe and the fourth largest in the world, Germany's climate balance is even lower than that of the European Union. We are far from keeping the climate promises made in Paris, to which Germany has committed itself under international law.

That is why we need the 1.5 degree turnaround. Now.
