About the volunteering opportunity
We are looking for volunteers with communicative to fluent Turkish skills. As the vast majority of our residents speak Turkish, we need people who can interpret/translate the questions and concerns of the refugees to our social workers and caregivers.
Your Tasks
Interpreting/translating residents' questions and concerns into German or English; interpreting in discussions with social services.
What's needed
For this volunteering opportunity, intermediate German skills are required.
Very good or native Turkish language skills; communicative German or English.

On weekdays, during the day
We adapt (as far as possible) to the volunteer. Everything by arrangement.
Important notice
Open consultation hours of the volunteer coordination take place on Mondays from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m.. Other appointments are arranged individually.What is required:
- Extended certificate of good conduct (free of charge for volunteers; we can take care of the application on request).
- Proof of immunization against measles (for persons born after 1969).

Aufnahmeeinrichtung Askanierring
The facility in Askanierring is a first accommodation for refugees who are new in Berlin. Temporary accommodation can accommodate up to 250 people of all ages and from different countries of origin.
