About the volunteering opportunity
For our "Am Lakegrund" shared flat for people with dementia, we are looking for a volunteer to accompany our 93-year-old resident Mrs. E. with her zest for life and wealth of ideas.
Mrs. E., a former telegraph operator, loves going for walks in the garden and reading Brothers Grimm fairy tales. She enjoys being accompanied on trips and creative activities such as the card game "Dream a Tree".

Your Tasks
- Let Mrs. E. listen to the fairy tales of the Brothers Grimm.
- Awaken the spirit of her youth with her by singing cheerful children's songs.
- Accompany her on wheelchair excursions to the Plänterwald, to concerts or on museum visits for people with dementia.
- Challenge her creativity with the game "Dream a Tree" and other exciting activities.
What's needed
For this volunteering opportunity, advanced German skills are required.
- Empathy and sensitivity in dealing with older people
- Patience and interest in Mrs. E.'s stories and experiences
- Ability to adapt to Mrs. E.'s needs and preferences and create a pleasant atmosphere for conversation
- Reliability and a willingness to commit regularly
