About the volunteering opportunity
For our "Am Lakegrund" shared apartment for people with dementia, we are looking for a nature-loving volunteer to accompany our 77-year-old resident Mrs. G., a former sales clerk, with a zest for life.
She likes to talk about her encounters at KaDeWe, where she worked in the children's department. She lived in West Berlin and likes to talk about what it was like to live in West Berlin.
Ms. G. loves going for walks in the garden and in the Plänterwald forest and is happy to be accompanied. "I can do it on my own, but it's more fun in pairs," says the 77-year-old resident with mild dementia. Before she moved into the shared apartment, she had her own garden at the house, which she looked after. Her love of nature has not changed in old age and she enjoys being accompanied on trips and being able to chat with others.
