About the volunteering opportunity
Chancenbuddy gUG is a non-profit organization that campaigns for greater educational equality in Germany. Our aim is to make it easier for young people to access suitable support services - regardless of their social or financial situation.
To this end, we are developing a digital platform that connects students and supporters in an innovative way. Our team consists of young professionals from the fields of education, psychology, AI, UI/UX and communication.
Your Tasks
As a volunteer web developer (fullstack) at Chancenbuddy gUG, you will support us in the revision and technical development of our new website. This forms the heart of our work by enabling the matching between young people and support offers.
Your tasks include:
- Designing, programming and optimizing our web-based platform
- Implementing an existing prototype and developing new functions
- Ensuring a modern, responsive and accessible user interface
- Collaboration with our interdisciplinary team (UI/UX, education, AI)
The work is voluntary and can be done remotely. The scope of time is flexible. The goal is to launch the new website by the end of the first quarter of 2026.
What's needed
For this volunteering opportunity, advanced German skills are required.
Qualifications
If you have experience with other suitable tools, languages or frameworks, we are open to your suggestions.
- Web development: Confident handling of HTML, CSS and JavaScript as well as experience with frameworks such as React or Angular
- Backend development: Knowledge of Node.js, Express and database management (e.g. MongoDB, SQL) is an advantage
- Teamwork & communication: enjoy working in a digital, interdisciplinary team
- Motivation & initiative: Interest in working for social change and actively helping to shape a charitable project
Experience in voluntary work or social commitment is welcome, but not a prerequisite.
