About the volunteering opportunity
Our association "anderes Festival e.V." was founded in 2008 to organize a two-day indie music festival once a year in August. The aim is to support the region in order to strengthen culture in Brandenburg. The association also supports children's charities by organizing the festival with an annual donation of at least €2 from every ticket sold and everything that remains on the credit side after deducting the festival costs.
We are taking place in an open air castle in Friedland, which is 1h 30 min away from Berlin. You can go by train :)

Convinced by the basic idea, we as a team put 100% love and energy into the "most lovingly handmade festival in the region". Currently, 15 members work voluntarily and democratically on the organization of the festival and its accompanying events. And they have been doing so for 16 years. Some were infected by the special festival energy in Friedland, for others the charity character was in the foreground right from the start. As we are more or less unskilled enthusiasts, there is always a lot to do and a lot of fun to be had. But anyone who has ever been to Friedland has experienced the love for detail and handmade products and knows how to appreciate the originality and playfulness.
Your Tasks
We are looking for helpers who either:
- set up the festival with us
- take on shifts at the festival, e.g. tapping beer, making sandwiches, making vegetable spreads, looking after the campsite and and and
- dismantle the festival with us
Between us and our helpers, we often grow really close. We are a small community that drags and dances together and eats ice cream together. Would you like to join us? Get in touch with us!

In August, we set up and dismantle the festival. We usually spend eight days on site barbecuing, swimming, making campfires and dancing.
This year the set-up and dismantling phase is from July 29 - August 6. The festival itself is on August 2nd & 3rd. You can come for as long as you like.
