About the volunteering opportunity

We are looking for people who would like to volunteer to help refugees who have fled to Germany to settle in and make initial contact with locals.

Your Tasks

As a personal support, you are the contact person for individual refugees (and possibly their families) and support them with questions about "life in Germany" or help them with bureaucratic matters. Above all, however, you are also simply an important contact to locals and enjoy talking to people informally and at eye level.

Our volunteer coordinators are there to support you at all times, so that you also have a point of contact if you have any questions.

What's needed

For this volunteering opportunity you don't need any German skills.

Where?

Johanniter-Unfall-Hilfe e.V. Regionalverband Östliches Ruhrgebiet

As Johanniter, we are one of the largest aid organizations in Germany. The help from person to person forms the central motive of our work. We are active in refugee work throughout Germany and support people at eye level after they have fled. We want to help people who come to Germany feel welcome, find their way to a self-determined life, and actively participate in society.
