Mentoring for equal opportunities in the Kaiserslautern area

Which adult supported you in finding your path during your school years? Who gave you guidance when "what comes after school" suddenly became a reality? Who could you ask all your questions to? Young people in particular often lack this person.

Equal opportunities remain one of the greatest social challenges of our time. All too often, social background, family support and available resources still determine which educational paths are possible and what prospects there are later on the job market. Perhaps you had exactly this person on your path or wished you had someone by your side. If you don't have them, you are often left alone with big questions: What can I do? What suits me? How do I get there? Origin determines the future.

As a mentor, you accompany a young person between the ages of 14 and 18 for two to four hours a month. During the regular meetings, you create a protected space for exchange, questions and support. It's about developing potential, career guidance and self-efficacy. And making young people feel: "I'm not alone. I am seen!"

What does it take? Your experience, a sympathetic ear and an encounter at eye level. You don't have to have the perfect CV or an answer to every question. Our digital preparation gives you everything you need for a successful start to mentoring. You will learn everything else on our training platform and in discussions with the full-time team. And if you still have any questions, simply bring them with you to get to know each other via Zoom.

For reasons of child and youth protection, all mentors must present an extended certificate of good conduct without registration. As part of the digital preparation, you will receive a fee waiver from us, which makes the application free of charge for you.
