About the volunteering opportunity
Do you enjoy singing and want to share this joy with others? Our residential community in Lichtenberg is looking for a committed volunteer to sing regularly with our residents. Our group consists of 9 women and men with dementia aged between 80 and 90. Folk songs and pop songs are particularly popular.
Your Tasks
- Regular meetings to sing together with the residents.
- Guiding them in singing.
- Creating a cheerful and motivating atmosphere for the music lessons.
What's needed
For this volunteering opportunity, advanced German skills are required.
- Enjoyment and experience in singing.
- Empathy and patience in dealing with people with dementia.
- Regular availability on a fixed weekday, every 7 days, 14 days or once a month.
- No special previous knowledge required, but welcome. We offer free training if you want to learn more!
Time required
- Regularly on a weekday, by arrangement.
- Flexible times, preferably in the morning between 10:00 am and 12:00 pm.
- Duration of the meetings approx. 1-2 hours.
- Every 7 days or 14 days or once a month.
Important notice
A member of staff will always be present at the first appointments and will remain within reach to offer support later on. Your musical accompaniment will bring a lot of joy to our residents and significantly improve their quality of life.
