We are a non-profit association and have been based in Bonn since 1996. Our motto is: "Wars are made by people. So is peace." And we act accordingly! We organise lectures and actions, interfere politically and are also very practically active for peace, here in Bonn and nationwide.
We are mainly women, but welcome all people who want to get involved with us, regardless of gender, age or background :).
We are mainly financed by membership fees and donations; from time to time also by small to very small third-party funded projects.
Our goal is a culture of peace based on justice, mutual respect, non-violence, constructive conflict management, international understanding and reconciliation. We take the commitment of peoples to peace expressed in the Charter of the United Nations seriously and reject wars and acts of war as well as their preparation.
We advocate the equal participation of women in all peace activities in politics and society, make the work of PeaceWomen visible and raise awareness for a gender perspective in the context of war and peace.
This is what we do, locally here in Bonn, but also nationwide and internationally, and always networked with other groups and organisations.

Peace work is particularly effective when it is supported by many people, be it at demos or actions, at smaller events or charity events, at work here in the office or online in the social media.
Our members here in Bonn are partly older and not as mobile as they used to be. Especially for public actions, charity flea markets, events or projects we are always looking for support.
