Objectives
Foodsharing sees itself as an environmental and educational movement that campaigns against the careless use of resources and for a sustainable food system. The long-term goal is to end the waste of edible food. This is why foodsharing is active locally, rescuing food from both private households and businesses and engaging in dialog with politicians. Rescued food is passed on to everyone free of charge via drop-off points and "fair sharers". foodsharing cooperates with supermarkets, weekly markets, restaurants, etc. and works with food banks and other voluntary organizations. All people who are actively involved in foodsharing do so on a voluntary basis. And foodsharing works independently of political parties and religious denominations.
