We are involved because we no longer want to stand by and watch the social gap widen in one of the richest countries in the world. Because we believe that everyone has the right to social participation. Because we find it intolerable that people freeze to death on the streets of our city in winter - and that they die on the streets in summer too. Because we are convinced that we can change the society we live in if we talk to each other, listen to our counterparts and act together. We are starting to do this in Hamburg.

Our vision: We are committed to abolishing homelessness in Germany and creating a society in which everyone can participate. #commonwealth

We support homeless people and others in need of help to become active players, raise their voices, contribute their talents and implement their own ideas. We tell their stories in order to make the specific faces behind the general phenomena of "homelessness" and "poverty" visible. We make contact, listen and donate time. We act in a network of politics, business and civil society in order to bring about long-term change in a society that has so far viewed homelessness and poverty primarily as individual problems. Together, we develop creative ways out of poverty.

With our activities, we create impetus in three areas: "Housing", "Working" and "Meeting".

Homes for Homeless - First a Home gives homeless people a home so that they can settle down and get a fresh start. StrassenBLUES e.V. is currently developing a concept based on "Housing First" with scientific support, which is suitable for the Hanseatic City of Hamburg. We are currently looking for landlords who can provide housing in Hamburg.

Working for Impact - a job with meaning helps homeless people and people affected by poverty to find meaningful work in social enterprises (preferably in nature conservation and environmental protection). We are already cooperating with the first social enterprise and a larger company that is financing the first jobs. We are currently looking for other (social) enterprises that give people affected by poverty a chance and offer them meaningful work.

Meaningful Meeting - Exchange at eye level creates spaces for people with and without shelter to meet. To this end, we create events that contribute to exchange and create a community, such as StrassenGEBURTSTAG, StrassenWEIHNACHTSWUNSCH or StrassenDIALOG. Anyone who has ever taken part knows: StrassenBLUES ... changes you!

In particular, your cooperation supports events in Hamburg with and for homeless and poverty-stricken people.
