Objectives
The CAPTAIN PAUL WATSON FOUNDATION focuses in particular on the fight against the illegal killing of whales and dolphins, whether through bycatch or targeted hunting. The scope of our work extends from the coast of France via the Faroe Islands to Iceland and possibly back to the Southern Ocean. Our intervention is necessary because state bodies and authorities fail to act due to a lack of political will or economic reasons. Poachers plunder the oceans with impunity, disregard protected areas and evade any control over catch quotas, by-catches or species protection. The CAPTAIN PAUL WATSON FOUNDATION acts in precisely these cases because no one else will and is committed to saving the lives of its protégés through its relentless efforts.
