Guardianship is established when parents are unable or prohibited from exercising custody.
The goal of the SkF guardianship team is to create a positive living situation for the young people involved, so that they can successfully start their own independent lives.
In doing so, contact with the children and adolescents should not be neglected, and a personal bond should develop that lasts until they reach the age of majority. In the case of volunteer guardianships, this bond often continues long after their 18th birthday.

Interessierte bürgerschaftlich engagierte Erwachsene, die Folgendes mitbringen:
- Freude an einem kontinuierlichen, verantwortungsvollen und langjährigen Engagement
- Eine wertschätzende, vorurteilsfreie Haltung gegenüber Kindern und Jugendlichen
- Sensibilität in Hinblick auf kulturelle und religiöse Prägungen der jungen Menschen
- Empathie und Kommunikationsfähigkeit
- Zeitliche Ressourcen und ein hohes Maß an Verantwortungsbewusstsein
- Bereitschaft zur Kooperation mit dem Jugendamt und anderen Institutionen
- Offenheit und Kritikfähigkeit

Objectives
The goal of the SkF guardianship team is to create a positive living situation for young people who have been placed under guardianship, so that they can successfully start their own independent lives. In doing so, we ensure that contact with the children and adolescents is not neglected and that a personal bond is formed that lasts until they reach the age of majority. In the case of volunteer guardianships, this bond often remains active long after the 18th birthday.
Kira Nienhaus, Annette Berresheim, and Cornelia Kirchhof make up the expert advisory team for volunteer guardianships. We are always looking for volunteers who would like to provide long-term support to a young person. We place great importance on thorough training and close support. In addition, we facilitate valuable exchanges during monthly meetings with other volunteer guardians (participation is voluntary).
