Die Mitterfelder gGmbH
The nonprofit Mitterfelder gGmbH is built on three pillars: care, education, and support. It helps people live with dignity and age gracefully within a community and in familiar surroundings. To this end, we offer Mitterfelder residents a cultural, daily-life-supporting, and health-promoting program in the senior-friendly neighborhood ( SenQ). In addition, our community-based work includes professional services such as day care, outpatient nursing care, family care, the Mobile Social Service, and neighborhood housing (in cooperation with Münchner Wohnen). The Academy for Nursing Professions focuses on education and training the next generation of nursing professionals .
About Die Mitterfelder gGmbH
Target group(s)
The primary target group consists of very elderly seniors (80 and older) who live independently in apartments in the Mitterfeld neighborhood. This target group is often characterized by issues such as poverty in old age, loneliness, and severe mobility limitations. In many cases, there are no relatives available locally to provide support, and the need for assistance can be significant.

Funding
Mitterfelder gGmbH is a nonprofit organization of the Catholic Family and Elderly Care Foundation (founded in 1956; its purpose is to provide assistance to the elderly and families) responsible for the operational aspects of the foundation’s mission. The gGmbH is funded by various foundation resources and municipal grants from the City of Munich. It operates various facilities at six locations in Munich that provide care for families and the elderly.
Objectives
The nonprofit Mitterfelder gGmbH is committed to helping older adults maintain their freedom to live with dignity, independence, and self-determination. Cultural enrichment and social participation engaging all the senses are at the heart of a wide range of activities—from concerts to yoga—that are designed to appeal particularly to people aged 80 and older. In addition, a professional neighborhood office—offering age-appropriate social counseling and individualized assistance—helps neighborhood residents overcome the challenges they face in daily life.
