About the volunteering opportunity
The Mitterfeld Senior-Friendly Neighborhood in Munich-Pasing offers a comprehensive program of cultural activities and educational opportunities for older adults. We organize concerts and cultural events on-site for older adults, or take small groups by taxi to cultural events in the city of Munich. For these events, we are looking for volunteers to assist individuals with limited mobility.
Your Tasks
The cultural guides pick up our guests from their apartments in the neighborhood, take them to the event on-site, or accompany them by taxi to events in downtown Munich and back home afterward. There is no cost; the event ticket and the taxi ride are included. The cultural guides volunteer their time.
What's needed
For this volunteering opportunity, advanced German skills are required.
You enjoy culture and classical music and like spending time with older adults. You’re outgoing, physically fit, and enjoy helping older adults who have difficulty getting around. You’re understanding and empathetic toward older adults.

The location is Munich-Pasing. That is where the events take place or, if applicable, where taxi rides to the city center begin. The assignment lasts several hours and includes travel to the assignment location, accompanying participants to the event, a round-trip taxi ride (if applicable), and the return trip to the volunteer’s home. It is preferable if the volunteer’s commute is within the Munich-West region.
Important notice
Cultural support is a necessary prerequisite for participating in our cultural programs, which is why reliability is especially important.

The nonprofit organization Mitterfelder gGmbH is built on three pillars: care, education, and support. It helps people live with dignity and age gracefully within a community and in familiar surroundings. To this end, we offer Mitterfelder residents a cultural program that supports daily life and promotes health in the senior-friendly neighborhood ( SenQ). In addition, our community-based work includes professional services such as day care, home health care, family care, the Mobile Social Service, and neighborhood housing (in partnership with Münchner Wohnen). The Academy for Nursing Professions focuses on education and training the next generation of nursing professionals .
