It wants residents, clubs and associations as well as local business enterprises to share a common responsibility, encourage community and promote volunteer engagement.
In order to fulfill the foundation's purpose, endowments are raised, invested sustainably and profitably, and donations are collected. With these funds, the Bürgerstiftung Köln supports, initiates or carries out a wide range of projects.
