About the volunteering opportunity

Specifically, it is about volunteering in the afternoon care of an Elementary School or a similar institution in Cologne at one afternoon during the week and bring in some good ideas or projects (the exact day and duration is completely your choice!).

Your Tasks

The offer should be a nice and important addition to the daily work in the afternoon care. First of all, it's about spending time with the children (who are between six and ten years old), maybe tell stories, reading, playing with each other or helping with their homework. Particularly welcome would be working groups (AGs) or workshops in the fields of art & creativity, crafts, games & sports as well as dance, theater & music. The Pänz (kids) can try out their talents in smaller groups and look forward to doing something together. It should be about the fun to learn with each other and from each other.

What's needed

For this volunteering opportunity, advanced German skills are required.

You should have fun in the handling of children between the ages of six and ten - and have the patience it sometimes needs from time to time. Another requirement is of course a certain competence in your offered workshops or AGs.

Important notice

It would be desirable to have a plannable, if not longer-term voluntary commitment. An offer should at best be available weekly and half-yearly, or at least between two holiday periods (for example, summer to the autumn holidays). The duration of a workshop or an AG should be about one hour; In addition, there might be time needed for preparation and follow-up.
