Das Kunstbildungsprogramm Ubuntus

The intergenerational art education program Ubuntus focuses on the main target group: people.

Ubuntus is for children, young people and adults with and without disabilities. Non-fugitive children and adolescents as well as children and adolescents with experience of escape, who live in shared and emergency accommodation, become partners. In equal educational sponsorships they come into contact with each other in projects (modules) on contemporary visual art and architecture and learn something about themselves and the society in which they live.
The program consists of interconnected project modules that are continually being developed.

About Das Kunstbildungsprogramm Ubuntus

Target group(s)

The intergenerational art education programme Ubuntus is for people with and without experience of escape and/or impairment/disability. The focus is on children and young people who have not fled, as well as children and young people with experience of flight who live in shared and emergency accommodation. They are accompanied by adult Ubuntus participants who share the vision of a respectful and dissenting society. In educational sponsorships with equal rights, everyone comes into contact with each other in projects on contemporary art and architecture and learns something about themselves.

The programme also promotes the concept of social neighbourhood and creates spaces for encounters. It encourages children, young people and adults to create and cultivate an open relationship with one another. In this togetherness, all participants experience what diversity means - they learn from the challenges and create something new at the same time.

Objectives

Ubuntus goes far beyond its work with children and young people: the programme creates spaces for encounters across all ages and encourages children, young people and their families as well as friends and neighbours to create and maintain an open relationship. In this interaction all participants experience what diversity means - they learn from the challenges and at the same time create something new.
