#BIKEYGEES e.V.
#BIKEYGEES e.V. offers free cycling lessons for (refugee) women and girls (aged 16 and over).
In addition to practical cycling training, we give traffic lessons in various languages and teach the basics of maintaining and repairing your own bike.
We started in September 2015 as a small empowerment project and have been recognized as a non-profit association for educational and integration work since May 2016. Our training courses create immediately visible and sustainable changes in the lives of the participants.

Volunteering and donations!
Why are we dependent on donations? Bicycles, multilingual lessons, transport, camp rent and places - there are many costs to carry out the trainings. It is important for us to remain independent and to offer our participants a safe place where they can learn in peace and with cheerful helpers. Therefore, we are absolutely dependent on your donations. We thank you supporters from the bottom of our hearts!
Objectives
#BIKEYGEES e.V. offers free cycling lessons for (refugee) women and girls. In addition to practical cycling training, we provide multilingual traffic instruction and the basics of bicycle maintenance and repair.
Why do we do this?
Every woman in the world should be able to cycle. And should be allowed to!
For us, cycling means being able to get around cheaply and in an environmentally friendly way, enjoying exercise, helping us to explore our surroundings and giving us freedom and independence.
Not every woman has the opportunity to learn to cycle. That's why we exist.
Our training courses create immediately visible and sustainable changes in the lives of the participants.
How do we do it?
Our cycling lessons take place in a safe environment. The helpers support the women from the first turn of the cranks and hold, push and explain for as long as necessary. If there is a lot of laughter along the way, we have almost achieved our goal!
We try to provide women who have learned to ride a bike and the traffic rules with a bike set.
Who is our offer for?
Our bike training sessions take place regularly and are free of charge. All women/girls aged 16 and over are welcome, regardless of origin, age, religion or status.
Who is behind it?
We started in Sept. 2015 as a small empowerment project. We held our first training session with our own bikes and friends in a supermarket parking lot. Right from the start, the response was huge.
In the meantime, we have grown into a non-profit association for educational and integration work and have been recognized as such since May 2016. So far, we have got over 2,200 women/girls on bikes for free and handed over around 650 bike sets as donations. (as of Jan. 2026)
