About the volunteering opportunity
Every woman should be able to ride a bike! And should be allowed to.
For us, cycling means being able to travel cheaply and in an environmentally friendly way, it's a joy of movement, it helps us explore our surroundings, it means freedom and independence. Not every woman has the opportunity to learn to ride a bike. That's why we exist. Our training sessions are open to all new and old Berliners aged 16 and over, regardless of origin, age, religion or status.

Not every woman has the opportunity to learn to ride a bike. That's why we exist. Your Tasks
Social media content is an important component of our commitment. Unfortunately, we often don't have the time to do this on the side while training. It's not about professional photos, but rather small videos for Instragram//TikTok.
There is a mediocre cell phone for this or you can do it with yours and send us the result. It's best if you take a quick look at our SM channels (Insta//TikTok) beforehand. Important in advance, not everyone wants to be filmed. But we will ask at the entrance and clarify this together. So, please come on time. So that there is enough time to vote. Thank you. As I said, it's less about perfect results and more about capturing the mood...fun and empowerment are our basis ;-)

What's needed
For this volunteering opportunity you don't need any German skills.
Familiar with common social media formats and content creation. Good humor and flexibility. We act live with participants of our bike training. It's best to take a quick look at our Instagram//TikTok channel for the general vibe//style ;-)

We only have a mediocre smartphone (Android, a bit older, sorry) on site. Or you can imagine using yours and sending the results to us.

Not all women want to be filmed, we ask this at the beginning, but it must be observed. No unauthorized use of the images/videos. Thank you for your understanding. The trust of the participants is more important to us than clicks.

Where?
#BIKEYGEES e.V.
#BIKEYGEES e.V. offers free cycling lessons for (refugee) women and girls (aged 16 and over).
In addition to practical cycling training, we give traffic lessons in various languages and teach the basics of maintaining and repairing your own bike.
We started in September 2015 as a small empowerment project and have been recognized as a non-profit association for educational and integration work since May 2016. Our training courses create immediately visible and sustainable changes in the lives of the participants.

We started in September 2015 as a small empowerment project and have been recognized as a non-profit association for educational and integration work since May 2016. Our training courses create immediately visible and sustainable changes in the lives of the participants.
So far, we have got around 1,980 women/girls on bikes for free and handed over around 650 bike sets as donations. (as of Sep. 2024)
