About the volunteering opportunity
In its mission statement for 2030, the City of Mannheim talks about educational equality and social and cultural participation as a primary strategic goal. Support in terms of education and social skills is of crucial importance, especially in the socially weaker parts of the city. VfR Mannheim would like to contribute to precisely this need for support with the help of this project.

- Supporting the education of socially disadvantaged children/young people
- Reducing prejudice and racism
- Teaching values through the characteristics of sport
Your Tasks
In order to effectively support our target group with regard to education, the VfR will create a guided tutoring service, which will focus primarily on the school subjects German and math. The plan is to pick up the pupils from their respective schools after school and teach them in a specially built classroom that is already in operation.

For years, VfR Mannheim has maintained a large group of FSJ volunteers who are socially active in school and kindergarten cooperations. This social commitment has resulted in awards such as the appointment as a base for integration through sport (DOSB) and the Mannheim Alliance against Discrimination and Racism (City of Mannheim).
