About the volunteering opportunity

Orchard meadows are part of our cultural heritage and can be a valuable habitat. However, they also need to be managed. As it is often no longer possible to under-manage the area with animals, at least some areas need to be mowed and cleared. We are looking for small teams of 10 to 20 people who would like to lend a hand.
We would like to start the campaign in mid to late June. We would be happy to carry out the work during the week, or at the weekend if planned well in advance. The work takes between two and three hours.

We would also like to mow and clear sections of our orchid meadow. Here 10 to 15 people can support us well. Depending on the size of the group, we need a time frame of three to five hours. A smaller campaign is to start in May, with the big mowing taking place at the end of September with the complete clearing of the area.

Your Tasks

Using hay rakes and pitchforks, the mown material is raked up, placed in wheelbarrows and removed from the area or deposited elsewhere as valuable mulch.
