About the volunteering opportunity
For this project, we are looking for committed helpers who are willing to participate in the design of the common room in the accommodation at Tempelhof Airport. The aim is to redesign the room by painting and creating an inviting, pleasant atmosphere
Your Tasks
Tasks include:
- Planning and organization: we need help coordinating the project, including choosing colors, materials needs and preparing the space.
- Guidance and teamwork: Volunteers will be expected to guide small groups of volunteers and coordinate the workflow. This includes instruction on simple painting techniques and the division of tasks.
- Carrying out the painting and wallpapering work: Together with the volunteers, the walls are prepared, primed, painted and wallpapered.
What's needed
For this volunteering opportunity you don't need any German skills.
Craftsmanship skills: Priming, painting, wallpapering

AWO/IB Unterkunft Flughafen Tempelhof
The Tempelhof Airport accommodation was put into operation on December 23, 2022 and is operated jointly by AWO Berlin-Mitte and the Internationaler Bund Berlin-Brandenburg. The accommodation is located in hangars 1, 2 and 3 of the former Tempelhof Airport and in parking lot 3. It offers space for a maximum of 1600 people.
