About the volunteering opportunity
Once again this year we are organizing a queer New Year's Eve event completely on a volunteer basis. First there's show and then music and dancing. In addition, there's a chillout lounge.
There are several areas of responsibility for which we need support. These include:
Allrounder
To ensure that guests always get their desired drinks at our bar, the refrigerators must be refilled again and again. This task is taken care of by "all-rounders".
Bar and counter
Performing the sale of drinks as well as support at our food counter this year.
Admission
Welcome the guests and make sure that we do not exceed our capacity. In case of doubt, this also means turning guests away.
Building up and dismantling as well as preparations
Before such an event evening, a lot of things have to be prepared and set up. This includes setting up pavilions outside, putting up decorations, stocking the refrigerators, preparing food, seating the room and much more.
Your Tasks
Allrounder
- Secure the beverage supply by fetching supplies from the basement (carry heavy)
- Collecting empty glasses
- Support and relieve the people behind the bar
- In between, keep things tidy: empty overflowing rubbish bins, refill toilet paper, etc.
Counter and bar
- Sell drinks or food
- Dispens mulled wine
- Collect money
Admission
- Welcome of the guests
- "Ticket control"
Preparations
- Setting up outside
- Fetch chairs from the cellar and set them up
- Putting up and removing decorations
- Set up live broadcast of stage program on TV
- Preparation of food
What's needed
For this volunteering opportunity, intermediate German skills are required.
All-rounder
- Fetching crates of drinks from the cellar requires certain physical resilience.
Counter/Mulled Wine
- You handle alcoholic beverages and should have no problem with this.
There will be an introduction to all tasks and you can ask all the time someone experienced. You will not be alone.

Important notice
For all-rounders: Please note that the stairs to the basement are relatively steep and it is therefore advantageous to wear flat shoes.
For the outdoor activities: Please note that it can get quite cold. Even if we try to get it warm warm clothing is very important.
