About the volunteering opportunity
We are looking for someone who enjoys cooking and working with young people. Special knowledge in the kitchen is an advantage, but not essential - much more important are enthusiasm and the ability to impart knowledge patiently and comprehensibly.
We offer a friendly team and an appreciative working atmosphere. We particularly welcome applications from people with a migration background who are culturally sensitive and open-minded.

Your Tasks
The tasks include:
- cooking together with a small group of young people once or twice a week (Mon-Thu from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm, the day(s) can be chosen freely)
- planning meals and menu design
- teaching basic knowledge of dealing with food
- support with the implementation of hygiene standards in the kitchen
What's needed
For this volunteering opportunity, advanced German skills are required.
- Enjoy cooking and working with young people
- Patience, enthusiasm and the ability to impart knowledge in an understandable way
- Basic knowledge of cooking is helpful, but not a must
- Intercultural openness and cultural sensitivity
- Good knowledge of German

The MARIE Engagement Office is the contact point for volunteering at AWO Berlin Kreisverband Südost e.V.
We advise interested parties on the opportunities and framework conditions for volunteering in the district association's facilities and projects.
We place interested volunteers in a suitable placement.
We offer volunteers:
Contact persons,
Insurance cover (accident and liability),
Proof of volunteer work,
Further training, exchange of experience, etc.
Our facilities are located in the Berlin districts of Neukölln, Lichtenberg, Reinickendorf and Treptow-Köpenick.
Daycare centers, after-school care centers, family centers, 1:1 support as part of a sponsorship... The opportunities for volunteering with us are many and varied!
