About the volunteering opportunity
Do you want to join us where help is urgently needed? Whether it's floods, flooding after storms, evacuations due to bomb disposal or a fire in an apartment building. Our disaster control team, including the logistics and technical group, is deployed in the event of major emergencies.
Your Tasks
As a volunteer in the logistics and technology group, you ensure that there is always enough material where it is needed. Whether it's camp beds for refugees, medical supplies or power generators in the event of flooding, you make sure that all the necessary materials are on site and are tidied up properly. You are also responsible for the monthly technical visual inspection of the power generators, diesel heaters and other technical equipment. You will also be responsible for illuminating the scene of operations or event areas using a lighting mast.
What's needed
For this volunteering opportunity, intermediate German skills are required.
Participation requires a category B driving license and at least 5 years of driving experience. Driving license category C or CE would be desirable.
Time required
Participation in the training services is possible on a weekly basis, every Tuesday from 07:30 pm to 09:00 pm.
Contents are advanced first aid measures and every last Tuesday of the month there is a technical training service on the vehicles.

Important notice
You should be willing to undergo further training as a paramedic (extended first aid measures/medical qualification) and be available flexibly for short-term assignments.

An aid organization with tradition: Johanniter has been active in Salzgitter for more than 40 years. The Johanniter provide medical and rescue services, home emergency calls and volunteer in disaster and civil protection with a motorcycle squadron, a medical group and a technical/logistics group with heavy equipment.
