About the volunteering opportunity
Our association helps queer people from Eastern Europe, Central Asia and the Caucasus to find their way through the maze of German bureaucracy.
We had a great housing project for queer refugees in Kreuzberg, which was unfortunately limited until the end of March. Many young queer residents are therefore facing homelessness. We are therefore trying to find new apartments or rooms for the residents as quickly as possible and need your support!
To make this possible, we want to set up a buddy system in which the residents are supported by volunteers in their search for accommodation. We all know how difficult it is to find an apartment in Berlin, especially for refugees, especially for queer people. Apartments have to be viewed, advertisements read through, etc. This is hardly possible for a traumatized person without sufficient knowledge of German. We can only do this with your help!

What's needed
For this volunteering opportunity, intermediate German skills are required.
You should have an open-minded attitude towards LGBIT* people. You should also speak one of the following languages:

- Russian

Quarteera e.V.
Quarteera e.V. is a non-profit association of LGBTQIA* refugees, migrants and supporters that has been campaigning for the rights of LGBTQIA* people from Eastern Europe, Central Asia and the Caucasus since 2011 and raises awareness of the multiple discrimination faced by queer refugees and migrants in Germany. At our advice center, we support LGBTQIA* refugees and migrants from countries such as Ukraine, Georgia, Belarus, Russia, Kazakhstan, etc. and provide advice on asylum and residence law, social law and psychosocial needs.
