About the volunteering opportunity
Severe rheumatic diseases often restrict mobility - and therefore also social contacts. Many affected people feel isolated because they lack the opportunity to participate in life outside their home. This is exactly where our visiting service comes in: We bring committed volunteers together with our users and create valuable encounters.
Whether for a nice chat, joint activities or simply as friendly company - your visit can make the everyday life of a person in Berlin a little brighter! The place of assignment is the flat of the person to be visited in Berlin. We make sure that the location is easily accessible for you and take individual wishes into account.

Your Tasks
Our volunteer visitors spend 1 to 2 hours a week with a person who has limited mobility due to a severe rheumatic disease. The focus is on joint activities that bring joy:
✨ Having conversations
📰 Reading the newspaper
🎲 Playing board games
📸 Looking at old photos
🌿 Maybe even take a short walk or go into your favorite café

Important: It's not about caring, it's about giving time and breaking isolation. Your commitment can make a difference for someone - get involved!
What's needed
For this volunteering opportunity, intermediate German skills are required.
Interested parties should have a good knowledge of German (B-Level). Otherwise, we are looking for reliable, empathetic people who enjoy working with other people. In addition, an extended certificate of good conduct is required, but the costs will be covered.
Time required
The volunteer visitors and the users clarify among themselves how the visits are organized. We would be pleased to receive a binding commitment of 1-2 hours. In certain cases, a telephone "visit" is also possible.
Important notice
We offer you guidance from experts, a lively exchange of experiences with other volunteers, reimbursement of costs incurred and further training and qualification opportunities. In addition, you are covered by our liability and accident insurance and can take part in free excursions and events.
The accessibility of the location depends on the user's home. Volunteers' needs are noted and will of course be taken into account in the allocation process.
