About the volunteering opportunity
This offer is an invitation from Wellcome - Practical help after the birth is an offer for all families who would like support in the first year after the birth of a child. The first few months after the birth of a child are a particular challenge for all parents: the baby cries, nobody does the shopping, the sibling is jealous and the worried father no longer has any parental leave. If you don't have help from family, neighbors or friends, you can get it from wellcome. A volunteer relieves the family in everyday life: the volunteer provides you with individual time-outs in which you can recharge your batteries.
Your Tasks
You watch over the baby's sleep while the mother recovers, look after the sibling, accompany the mother of twins to the pediatrician, provide practical support and listen. The support provided by wellcome is limited to approximately three months during the first year of life. The volunteers come home for a few hours one or two days a week. You are professionally supported by the wellcome team coordinator, an experienced specialist who advises families and volunteers throughout the entire period. The volunteers do not carry out any household tasks.
