About the volunteering opportunity

Dog mediator for our animal welfare organization in the home office

We are looking for support for our dog placement service. The placement work is very varied and responsible. In order to find the right home for our dogs, it is very important for us to carefully inform potential families. We are also the point of contact for our partner organizations, preliminary inspectors, transporters and authorities. After a successful placement, we continue to provide our adopters with help and advice over the phone. We support them for at least 3 months to help the dogs settle in before our adopter support team takes over the final aftercare. We are looking for motivated helpers for this varied task.

Your Tasks

What needs to be done?

The following tasks should be undertaken for dog placement:

  • Editing dog profiles: coordinating and formulating the descriptions of the dogs for new animals to be placed with the respective shelter partner; storing pictures for this purpose in the cloud; revising existing profiles
  • Correspondence with potential adopters: processing incoming adoption inquiries and applications
  • Education and advice: informing interested parties and potential adopters about adoption, animal welfare, etc.
  • Organization: pre- and post-adoption checks, drawing up protection contracts
  • Master data maintenance: of adopters and animals
  • Communication: with foster homes, sponsors, animal shelters, veterinary offices and transporters

Time required

If you have between 3 and 5 hours a week for us, the work is easy to do. More is also possible if you can spare the time.

Important note:

We always have interested parties who initially want to help us, but then fail to fulfill their tasks. If you apply to us, please bear in mind that our animal placement service is a day-to-day operational business that runs continuously. We have a team in the animal mediation area (separate dog and cat mediators), tasks can be agreed and distributed. We need a high degree of reliability in animal placement, as it is not least a service. If you have between 3 and 5 hours a week for us, the work is easy to do. More is also possible if you can spare the time. Working and coordinating as a team is very important to us, despite working mainly virtually - we are an association and we live this. We also offer regular association meetings where we can see each other and develop the association further. However, your cooperation is not regionally bound to the Rhine-Main area.

Important notice

What can you expect?

  • A committed, highly motivated and great team that is committed to animal welfare at home and abroad
  • Exciting tasks and an environment in which you can get involved
We have piqued your interest and you would like to support us in our work? Then get in touch at  helfen@tierisch-happy.de

We look forward to hearing from you!
