About the volunteering opportunity
Blockblocks Cleanup Teams Up with Sea Shepherd!
Together with you, we want to send a strong message and, through a joint cleanup effort along the Rhine, ensure that less trash from here ends up in the oceans.
Sea Shepherd is a globally recognized organization that works tirelessly to protect the oceans. Its mission: to combat illegal fishing, protect marine mammals, and preserve the marine environment. Through spectacular actions and great courage, they’ve already achieved major successes and drawn attention to the urgent problems facing our oceans.
So what could be more natural than a joint effort to stop litter locally, so it doesn’t become part of the global plastic tide in the oceans?
We’ll bring everything you need for a cleanup. Equipped with gloves, grabbers, buckets, and trash bags, we’re ready to roll up our sleeves and get to work with you.
All you need to bring is plenty of motivation, a positive attitude, and weather-appropriate clothing.
Together we’re strong—for the Rhine, for the oceans, and for our environment.

Your Tasks
Cleanup at the Rhine. Collect waste together and prevent it from becoming part of the global flood of plastic in the oceans via the Rhine!
What's needed
For this volunteering opportunity you don't need any German skills.
You don't need any special skills to take part in the event. You will receive gloves, bin bags and grabbers at our materials counter. You can also return them there after use. We will also collect the filled garbage bags and other garbage there.

At least once a month, we organize two-hour cleanups for volunteers at various locations on the banks of the Rhine in Düsseldorf. We have old coffee sacks for collecting garbage, containers for separating recyclable material, gloves and grabs on site - and a good mood anyway!
Everyone is welcome to join in and experience how much fun it is to tackle things together and make the world a little better with your own hands!
