About the volunteering opportunity
We are looking for companions for a lonely senior citizen, 88 years old, with mild dementia, to accompany her on walks in the neighborhood on a rollator and to have conversations.
The support is particularly needed in Lichtenberg/Friedrichsfelde.
Your Tasks
Accompaniment of an elderly person with impaired mobility, accompaniment on a rollator or wheelchair push service, walks, visits to the doctor, shopping
What's needed
For this volunteering opportunity, advanced German skills are required.
You should enjoy working with older people or people with mental disabilities and have empathy, be reliable, have at least 4-6 months' time and possibly experience in handling a wheelchair. But above all, qualities such as patience, reliability and a genuine interest in the people in our facilities are important to us.
No health restrictions, participation in wheelchair training (3 - 4 h), dates as required
