About the volunteering opportunity
We are still looking for two volunteers for an ongoing volunteer service at our accommodation for refugees at Tempelhofer Feld, who can cover for the other language service providers when they are on vacation or otherwise absent.
It takes place once a week, on Thursdays from 5 pm to around 7 pm. In a relaxed atmosphere, three volunteers practise German together with the residents of the accommodation who are interested. The language levels are sometimes very different, so a willingness to improvise is required. The demand and the level of knowledge of the participants vary from week to week.
There are also many other possible assignments within the accommodation, please contact us!

Your Tasks
Practicing German with the residents in a needs-oriented way, in conversations, with simple exercises or small games and together with two other volunteers.
What's needed
For this volunteering opportunity, advanced German skills are required.
Advanced or native German language skills, other language skills such as Turkish, Farsi, Russian or Georgian are also welcome (no fixed requirement).

The Tempelhof Airport accommodation was put into operation on December 23, 2022 and is operated jointly by AWO Berlin-Mitte and the Internationaler Bund Berlin-Brandenburg. The accommodation is located in hangars 1, 2 and 3 of the former Tempelhof Airport and in parking lot 3. It offers space for a maximum of 1600 people.
