Support with renovation work in client apartments

Housing First Berlin is an innovative way to combat homelessness in the long term. Those affected are placed in permanent accommodation with their own tenancy agreement and also receive professional support. Housing First Berlin is a cooperative project between the Verein für Berliner Stadtmission and Neue Chance gGmbH.

Activity: We are looking for talented people to carry out renovation work and help furnish the client apartments. If possible, the activities can be carried out with the involvement of the tenants. When moving in / working in the apartment, social workers and/or social care workers and clients will be present. Examples of specific tasks are
- Moving (e.g. trips in the city from A to B or from the old accommodation to the own apartment)
- Transportation (e.g. of furniture and personal belongings)

- Renovations (wallpapering, painting walls)

- Manual work (e.g. repairs in the apartment, laying flooring, etc.)

- Furniture assembly (e.g. connecting washing machines if possible, installing lamps)

Prerequisites: Good knowledge of German. Possession of a driver's license is desirable, but not mandatory for all activities.

Time required: varies depending on the assignment, by arrangement / open and flexible

When: Mon-Fri; at the weekend without the presence of the support team

Expected attitude: You are convinced that every person has an inalienable dignity. You have a respectful attitude towards the Christian faith as well as other religions and world views. You are also outgoing, able to deal with conflict and are reliable.
