About the volunteering opportunity
Polis180. e.V. is a grassroots think tank for foreign and European policy based in Berlin. As a hotbed of ideas and talent by and for young experts, we offer an inclusive platform for actively shaping foreign and European policy decision-making processes.
What we do:
- Discussion events and political analyses on current topics in the form of papers, briefs, podcasts and blog posts
- Inviting experts to events organized by organizations, institutions and the media to bring ideas directly to decision-makers and the general public.
At Polis180 you can..
- ...exchange ideas at eye level with other foreign policy enthusiasts and experts
- ...apply and develop your skills - from writing policy briefs to moderating events
- ...contribute your ideas to foreign and European policy as part of civil society.
As an inclusive platform by young people for young people, we offer the opportunity to discuss foreign and European policy together, rethink it and develop own visions. Through innovative approaches, we bring the analyses and solutions of our generation into the political discourse and build a bridge between different social groups and perspectives.
At Polis180, we are involved in various closely interlinked areas of focus. These are thematically divided into three main areas:

"EUrope " - with a focus on European security and defense policy, economic policy and Perspective East,

"Global Issues " - with topics such as Climate & Energy, Migration, (Un)Making Democracy, Gender & International Politics and Digitalization & Cybersecurity,

"Regions of the World " - including the programs The Americas and Connecting Asia.
Committed members come together at regular program meetings to discuss current topics, develop project ideas and work together on events or publications. Anyone can contribute their own ideas - whether you have a lot of previous experience or are just starting out.
Your Tasks
Whether you want to write blog posts, proofread papers, simply take part in an event or even organize something yourself - you can get involved with us according to your own interests. In keeping with our grassroots philosophy, there are virtually no limits to your creativity - as long as we stay within the democratic spectrum.
We are aware that getting started can sometimes seem overwhelming. That's why we cordially invite you to our monthly introductory evenings. You can gain initial insights, ask questions and get to know other volunteers in an informal setting.
