About the volunteering opportunity

Cycling along the Weser in the sunshine and enjoying a coffee at the Schlachte or cycling to the Bürgerpark for an ice cream - that sounds like a great idea!
However, for many senior citizens and people with limited mobility, this is difficult to do. The Malteser rickshaw rides now offer a free solution to this problem. People with limited mobility are picked up from their homes by volunteers in an electric rickshaw and driven to places that are otherwise inaccessible to them.

In addition to the exercise in the fresh air, spending time together and exchanging ideas across generations and cultures are key.

Become a Malteser Rickshaw pilot and give people with limited mobility a bit of freedom and joie de vivre again!

Your Tasks

As a volunteer on three wheels, you pick up your passenger at the agreed location, discuss the route and enjoy the excursion in the fresh air together.
Thanks to the electric pedal assistance, you ride with ease and can concentrate fully on your passenger.

Ride times: April to September
