About the volunteering opportunity
Fulfilling a special wish for seriously ill people in their final phase of life - that is the task of the ASB wish car. Since 2014, dedicated volunteer wish granters have been taking people at the end of their lives to their favorite place with the help of the project, which is financed exclusively from donations. Anyone who is still able to be transported can take part, the destination is up to the person making the wish - whether to the seaside, the stadium, a concert, to family or home again. As many wishes as possible will be fulfilled.

Your Tasks

What are your tasks?
- Medical care during the desired journey
- Reliable contact person for passengers and relatives
- Transportation from home to the requested location and back again
- Disinfection of the wish van after the trip
What will you learn?
- Treating people in exceptional situations with respect

- Self-reflection, mindfulness and emotional strength

What's needed
For this volunteering opportunity, advanced German skills are required.
- Completed training in the rescue service or
- A paramedic qualification of at least 60 hours
- Class B driving license
- In the best case: passenger transport license ("P license")
- Impeccable extended certificate of good conduct

- A calm, confident demeanor - even in emotionally challenging moments
- Empathy and the ability to relate to people in sensitive life situations

This is the basis for a wide range of services that are always geared towards people's current needs. From rescue services and disaster control to child and youth welfare, ASB is involved in all aspects of welfare and public welfare. Around 74,000 people are members of ASB Berlin.
