About the volunteering opportunity
In the daycare centers of the SOS Children's Village Worpswede, we support children in discovering and developing their abilities and preferences. The participation of the children is very important to us. The aim is to strengthen each child's individuality and support their personal development. The Worpswede daycare centers "Dat Butjerhus", "Quartier am Wald" and the daycare center at the Worpswede elementary school as well as the "Wunderwelt" daycare center in OHZ care for between 35 and 60 children aged 1 to 6 years. Each location is characterized by special conceptual features such as the immediate proximity to the elementary school, a multi-generational project or a special focus on nature education.
Your Tasks
- Accompanying children aged 1 to 6 years
- Further teaching of everyday skills
- Planning and preparation (and transportation if necessary) of daily meals
- Support and participation in daily educational work
- Doing small jobs around the house, in the kitchen and in the garden
- Implementation of child and caregiver protection
