About the volunteering opportunity
We have a beautiful children's room, which is equipped with toys and lots of beautiful painting utensils and craft materials. On one or more weekday afternoons, this room will be opened and children will be given the opportunity to spend time there: playing freely, painting or doing handicrafts.
Your Tasks
You play or do handicrafts with a small number of children of different ages (between 4 and 12 years). You can come up with craft projects or develop creative ideas together with the children.
What's needed
For this volunteering opportunity, intermediate German skills are required.
Patience, enjoyment of working with children, intercultural sensitivity, enjoyment of handicrafts and painting

On weekdays, during the day
We can agree on the day of the week, the ideal time would be between 2 and 5 pm. During this time, the nearby social worker's office is staffed and a full-time contact person is available at all times.
Important notice
A proof of measles vaccination (alternatively a certificate of immunity) must be presented in refugee accommodation if you were born in 1970 or later. Regardless of age, an extended certificate of good conduct is required when working with children, which we can easily request for you.

Asylum seekers from various countries of origin live in the refugee accommodation in Westend. The small accommodation, which is home to around 95 people, is run by a small full-time team from LfG-B (Berlin's state-owned operator for refugee accommodation). It has a large garden and is located on the same site as "Ulme 35".
