Volunteers wanted for regular clean ups (ID: 185904)

The "Kehrenbürger LICHTENBERG " have existed since September 2018. At least once a month, we clean up the green spaces, playgrounds and parks between Lichtenberg station and the Karlshorst harness racing track. We welcome anyone who wants to do something meaningful together with others without prejudice. We are also happy to support other initiatives/private individuals who want to carry out Clean Ups - be it with materials, advice, etc. We also cooperate with interested parties. "Kehrenbürger Lichtenberg" is a group of committed citizens from Lichtenberg who have been regularly removing litter from green spaces and playgrounds at least once a month since 2018. Our group was founded in September 2018 and was originally organized exclusively via nebenan.de - we now operate several social media channels and have had a website since July 2021. Since the beginning, we have been thankfully supported by BSR and its Kehrenbürger-Initiative (Sweeping Citizens initiative) (-> https://www.bsr.de/kehrenbuerger-21018.php), which after a while also gave us our name.

We meet regularly, usually on the first Saturday of the month, to fight litter in the area between Nöldnerplatz and Treskowallee. We are also out and about in Karlshorst and cooperate with CleanUps in Treptow-Köpenick and Kreuzberg. In 59 official campaigns to date (as of May 2024), we have removed a conservative estimate of over 20 tons of garbage from the green spaces in Lichtenberg and Karlshorst, probably significantly more.

We provide materials such as vests, gloves, tongs, buckets and bin bags.
