Integration support for refugees

As part of the ArrivalAid integration support program, refugees receive assistance with their integration process, as there is a great need for such support. Volunteers help with various everyday challenges, such as understanding letters or learning and practicing German. They can also provide support with homework, help people find their way around the city, or assist with planning leisure activities. We are especially grateful for dedicated individuals who are willing to help with the housing search. However, a willingness to assist with the housing search is not a prerequisite for volunteering as an integration mentor. 

First, you’ll take part in a three-hour introductory training session. After that, you’ll begin a 6- to 12-month mentoring phase with selected refugees. During this time, you can take advantage of the ArrivalAid Academy’s free training programs on key integration topics. In addition, a full-time staff member at ArrivalAid will always be available to assist you with any questions you may have.

To serve as a mentor in the integration support program, you should have the time and motivation to support a mentee at least once a week for about two hours over a period of six months. 

The requirements for a collaboration with ArrivalAid are time and motivation to accompany the refugee in important integration steps for at least 6 months. You should also bring intercultural sensitivity and participate in the initial training
