About the volunteering opportunity

Once a month - depending on the weather - the clothes swap takes place in the house or courtyard of the district center. The principle: you bring what you no longer wear and leave with new favorite clothes.
The offer is very popular, but also needs reliable people to help organize it.

Your Tasks

  • Help with assembly/dismantling (carry/push tables and clothes racks together)
  • Sort and organize clothes on racks/tables
  • Pack clothes into bags at the end of the event and store them in the Stadtteilzentrum
  • Take clothes to a donation location in Prenzlauer Berg (transportation easily possible with our new cargo bike)
  • Hang up information notices
  • Be available to answer questions from neighbors, explain the swap and possibly show people around
  • Supervise a donation stand (possibly hand out drinks, pastries/ice cream)

What's needed

On weekends, during the day
The swap takes place once a month in the house or courtyard of the district center at a fixed time. For 2026, we have already decided on the second Sunday of the month. Once a month or at least every two months (depending on the amount of clothing left over) the clothes are taken away - if someone wants to do this, the time can be determined by themselves, it just has to be agreed with us and at the opening time of the donation acceptance point.

Location

Stadtteilzentrum Prenzlauer Berg

The Prenzlauer Berg district center is an open house on Teutoburger Platz that promotes encounters, cultural offerings and social engagement in the neighborhood.
It offers barrier-free rooms, advice, workshops and supports civic projects with the aim of strengthening participation, solidarity and community in the district.
